That's great to hear you're enjoying them! The Print Pack is going to give you the same textures/effect, but it's applied differently. It's better suited for photographers, graphic designers, or artists wanting to apply the effect more quickly. The brushes give you more control over the end result and are primarily geared toward illustrators.

That's not a dumb question at all! There is a way to use the brushes on a photo in Procreate. We have a tutorial on our Instagram demonstrating this. You can also get the Risograph Print Pack which was designed with photographs in mind.

Sorry for the late reply! Wood & Ink has been archived, but we have similar products such as Analog Ink Foundry and the techniques can be translated using other tools.

I'm glad you liked it! I almost always apply color with the "Perfect Gouache" brush from the Mid-Century Brush Pack. I should have mentioned it!

Currently working on a project that requires a quick turn around....I was hoping to get a solution from you ASAP.

It's an iPad Pro.

There are a few different ways you can approach it. You could use a split screen to have the color chart up at the same time as you're working, use the "Reference" feature to have it floating in your document to reference, or bring the color chart into your document. For the last option, it's best to take zoomed in screenshots as Procreate will compress the image making it hard to read.

Hey there! Yes, K refers to Black, so if you see K1 or K2 in the color chart, that is the Black 1 or Black 2 brushes. The Multiply blending mode will not affect pure black because it's already as dark as possible. If you'd like to see through the black, you can lower its opacity or use a grey instead of black. If your paper texture doesn't have color layers or is missing a black layer, you can create another one and set the blend mode to Multiply. It's an iPad Pro. You can use any model iPad available to you so long as you can meet the system requirements for running Procreate and DupliTone. Having an iPad compatible with an Apple Pencil is recommended, but not technically necessary.

We have a color mixer chart included with the Riso brushes and the Print Pack. It won't be exactly the same because Riso has way more colors. Instead of getting a static chart, it is a modular color mixer that shows you how different colors blend together.

If you refer to the user guide, there are instructions for how to best use the brushes. The multiplying and offsetting effects are intentional features to more authentically mimic the way that Risograph printing works in real life. We know it can have a bit of a learning curve, but we suggest using Method 03 to start until you get more used to other ways of using the brushes.

It will depend on which products you are using. Adobe does have a way to use premium brushes, but it's a bit of a process. We'd be happy to walk you through it if you email us at support@retrosupply.co.

You may be able to just set the blend mode to "Divide," and it will act as an eraser like you'd like. You can also invert the texture and set the blend mode to "Screen."
